2012 Ford Ironman World Championships in Kona will be truly special. Bonner Paddock is attempting to become the 1st person with Cerebral Palsy to complete in Ironman Kona and he is doing it to raise $1 million for his foundation, OMF.
Bonner is continuing his intense training program in preparation for Ironman Kona in October 2012!
Ironman World Champion, Greg Welch, has developed a workout regimen that has Bonner up and training by 6am daily. He’s training approximately 20 hours a week, consisting of swimming, walk/jog, biking, core, weights and plyometrics. He usually starts in the pool by 6am and follows that with core workouts. He’s on the bike or headed out for a run every other day, with longer rides and swims on the weekends. Bike training includes lots of hills! Bonner is eating about 5,000 calories a day to sustain this regimen.
